Medicare guidelines can be broad and ambiguous, making it difficult to decipher which information should be included to ensure reimbursement. This e-course is designed to take the mystery out of effective Medicare documentation. It is the intent of this e-course to:

    2. Document effectively information that communicates the important aspects of treatment, as well as the essential components necessary for Medicare reimbursement.
    3. Prevent reimbursement denials, but if denied, be able to defend effectively the denial with appropriate documentation.
    4. Streamline documentation without compromising content or quality.


    A score of 80% or better must be received on the post test in order to
    receive a certificate of completion.

    Author Profile

    Teri Nishimoto-Vance, PT, GCS, has focused on rehabilitation of the older adult for the past 20 years. She holds the Geriatric Specialist Certification from the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties. Teri has worked in several healthcare settings including skilled nursing, home health and outpatient clinics, and worked as a staff clinician, lead therapist and director of rehabilitation services.  She has lectured and published on a variety of subjects including group therapy, the geriatric amputee, and Medicare documentation. Teri has also been an adjunct professor with the Physical Therapy Program at Pacific University in Oregon.  Currently, she is the lead physical therapist at Adventist Health Physical Therapy in Sandy, Oregon where she lives with her husband and two children.
