SEMINAR DESCRIPTION: This engaging, energetic seminar will illustrate methods and techniques that will motivate non-verbal young children to begin using vocal communication. The morning session will incorporate rhythm and rhyme with music to change children from silent observers to active verbal partners. Presented will be techniques and songs used to improve interaction skills, imitation, articulation and vocabulary for play schemes and daily routines. The afternoon session will focus on developing family-centered interventions to create functional communication in the home. The afternoon session will also discuss realistic objectives and how to document progress simply and effectively. The ultimate goal of this seminar is to empower participants with intervention strategies that will motivate non-communicative children to become effective, functional vocal communicators. (Children 0-5 years will be the focus of this seminar.) SEMINAR TUITION:
Cancellation Policy & Late RegistrationRegistration Cancellation Policy: Tuition will be refunded less a $25 processing fee if emailed notification is received by NSS up to two weeks prior to the seminar date.
Two weeks to 72 hours prior to seminar date: 50% refund; 72 hours or less: no refund. NSS reserves the right to cancel the
event up to 7 days prior to the seminar date. If cancelled by NSS full tuition refunds will be issued.
