"It was helpful to review the swallow as a whole. In the radiology suite it can become routine to only focus on airway. This course reminded me how much helpful information can be gained for treatment once airway safety is established. I liked that I could move at my own pace with all the resources available." S.S. (Jun. 2025)
"I think the learning zone was most helpful. I work in a pediatric inpatient rehabilitation hospital. Often, we get babies who have had swallow studies before admission. This will help me to better understand the results of their MBSS, and help me to interpret the swallow study when I accompany them on a repeat MBSS. I liked how many training videos were available during this course." C.M. (Jun. 2025)

"I really liked the idea of breaking down the swallow into 21 components, really helps you identify the problem and progress. The course was very organized and it was helpful that you could go back as many times to review the information, train on it and then take the test while referring back to the training. Each component was explained very well." K.H. (Apr. 2025)
"I liked the levelled practice - from learning to training to reliability zone. Parameters of the oral domain, the differentiation of early and late laryngeal vestibule closure, and the differentiation of amount/ timing of penetration/ aspiration." K.C. (Apr. 2025)

"Video examples. Teaching tools; very glad penetration and aspiration were included." S.D. (Apr. 2025)
"I do infant VFSS on a regular basis, this course will help partially standardize my hospital's practice. The handouts and video explanations were beneficial." L.Y. (Apr. 2025)

"I appreciate a standardized way of scoring infant VFSS." C.L. (Mar. 2025)
"Different timing of laryngeal closure, frequency of contrast in laryngeal vestibule, pharyngeal stripping and reasoning for nasopharyngeal regurgitation. I liked the variation of swallows to assess." J.R. (Mar. 2025)
"Thank you for the consistent form of presentation, and I really appreciated the feedback from the expert raters! I liked breaking down and streamlining the components of swallowing in a sequential swallow pattern! Thank you for doing this work! The original MBSImP was transformative for me as a clinician working with older kiddos and adults, and now that I work in the NICU, this course couldn't have come at a better time. Our entire pediatric and NICU SLP staff are taking this course and we are happy to have clear cut verbiage/standards! We are excited to incorporate this into our documentation!" D.L. (Mar. 2025)
"I have a better understanding now of infant anatomy. I liked being able to watch real videos of MBSS." E.S. (Mar. 2025)
"It was very helpful to know which specific areas to assess within the study. Having started working with adult patients with dysphagia, there were often times where I noticed the similarities between adult and baby swallows. As such, I frequently wanted to comment on, for example, pharyngeal stripping wave or other measures of the swallow which are components on the BaByVFSImP; however; there is a culture within the infant swallowing world wherein noting similarities between adults and infants is almost looked down upon. Now, I can be confident that these areas are not only areas of adult dysfunction but also apply to babies. Additionally, I think this very specific and organized assessment tool will help me to be more precise with my therapeutic interventions. The overall format including a variety of resources (reading, visuals, videos, explanations, email help) with a step by step (learning, training, reliability) learning process was very conducive to learning." M.V. (Mar. 2025)
"Multiple video and visual descriptions. I liked the visual examples and ability to repeat the learning tasks." L.Q. (Mar. 2025)
"I like that this course is specific and measurable to infants vs adults. It gives a lot of detail into each area of swallow specific to infants. It’s a great way to measure swallowing and breaking it down into multiple areas vs generalized function. I liked the repetition and variety of videos." M.M. (Feb. 2025)
