“The presenter was clear and very interesting to listen to. I liked the specific therapy steps/approach.” – M.C. (Nov. 2020)
“The speaker was very knowledgeable and gave us real-world solutions and ideas to assist us in navigating this very complex disorder. For many years it has been passed off as "Psych-sematic" believing that language wasn't a problem, but this really lets you see all of the areas that can be greatly impacted and how we can intervene and assist the child, the parents, and the academic team.” – S.B. (Oct. 2020)
“I enjoyed all of it, but especially the examples of our role in not only evaluation/counseling but also therapy ideas. It was a great course! The speaker was very knowledgeable and gave us real-world solutions and ideas to assist us in navigating this very complex disorder. For many years it has been passed off as "Psych-sematic" believing that language wasn't a problem, but this lets you see all of the areas that can be greatly impacted and how we can intervene and assist the child, the parents, and the academic team.” – S.B. (Oct. 2020)
“I feel like this course addressed an area of the field of speech/language therapy that is less researched. With the changes over the past several years, shifting to a team approach to Selective Mutism, I appreciate having a better understanding of where I fit into the team.” J.C. (Sep. 2020)
“The therapy techniques for working with students with selective mutism, as well as evaluation techniques, and parent interviews were insightful. Fantastic course.” – A.A. (Aug. 2020)
"I really liked both the 'Example of CDI and VDI in Action' slides. They were informative. I received great information and resources that I have not seen in other presentations. Thank you for providing this." – C.B. (July 2020)
"This was an amazing course that provided real life therapeutic strategies that I can actually see myself using. Also, providing a clear hierarchy of how to begin to interact with an SM student was very helpful. I liked the real life examples to use in therapy." – S.B. (July 2020)
"I really liked the entire presentation, but I am thrilled to have the tools to provide assessment, treatment, and suggestions for all team members. Fantastic presenter!" – C.F. (June 2020)
"I loved EVERYTHING about this presentation!! It is honestly one of the most useful webinars I have done in years. The specificity of techniques to use for both assessment and treatment were exactly what I needed. We have so many students that are presenting with Selective Mutism in our district and our SLPs and School Psychologists didn’t really have a firm enough understanding of how to deal with their needs. This gained knowledge will help me to help them develop those skills!" – M.W. (June 2020)
"I like the description of how to do therapy with SM students and how to grow their communication. I liked the videos during therapy nad the instruction on how to communicate during those sessions." – M.V. (May 2020)
"The treatment techniques were most beneficial. I liked how practical and applicable it was for school based practice." – K.W. (May 2020)
"This course was comprehensive and well-planned! I appreciated how much detail was provided. I appreciated the specific examples of step-by-step treatment techniques. The videos and case studies were excellent opportunities to see the strategies in action." – B.H. (Apr. 2020)
"The presenter did an excellent job explaining the progression of treatment for children with SM. The specific activities and techniques that were suggested by the presenter were most beneficial." – A.M. (Apr. 2020)
"I liked that the course material was explained in a very simple way. Going over the Sequences of Intervention Steps when treating a child with SM was most beneficial." – R.O. (Apr. 2020)
"There were lots of good evidence-based resources and strategies shared during the course." – M.G. (Mar. 2020)
